Tom Marchant

Vice President of Marketing

Designations/Affiliations

Tom is president of the Caesars Head Community Center and is active in organizations ranging from Greenville Chamber to Home Builders Association to Greater Greenville Association of REALTORS®.

Experience and Background

With Greenville roots 100 years deep, Tom Marchant has dedicated himself to helping other families grow here, too. He does this professionally – Tom is one of the Upstate’s most trusted REALTORS® – and via dedicated voluntarism focused on faith, education, and youth and family development.

Tom brings an eclectic mix of experience to his role as a consistent top agent and VP of Marketing at Marchant Real Estate. A 1992 graduate of Clemson University, he spent eight years as a top sales producer within the luxury hotel industry before moving into radio sales/strategy. His tenure with The Ritz-Carlton and Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts provide him significant insight into high-end client service and expectations, while time with Cox Media Group developed his creative use of marketing strategy. What’s more, Tom has lived in cities of varied sizes — spending many of his formative years in Tampa, then working in Atlanta for nearly a decade before returning to his hometown – so he combines a cosmopolitan perspective with an appreciation of all things local.

Thus, Tom has become Greenville’s go-to REALTOR® for fine homes and properties. He is a professional who understands the psychology of top-tier properties and utilizes inventive know-how to market them. He connects comfortably with clients, whether long-time locals or prospective transplants.  Tom also has a passion for new development, having successfully marketed these high-visibility projects: Park Place on Hudson, Augusta Walk, Woodland Park at Cleveland Forest.

Strategy/Motivation

Whether an historic North Main or Augusta Road home or a chic West End condo, a glorious Caesars Head get-away or a rustic mountain cabin, Tom has an exceptional market familiarity – that of a true resident – which proves beneficial to buyers and sellers alike. As a neighbor, he strives for sincerity in every transaction, focusing on clients’ long-term satisfaction rather than quick, easy sales.

A consistent top agent, working with buyers and sellers, Tom is keen on tech-savvy marketing to position high-end homes in front of their potential new owners. To this end, he utilizes skilled stagers, professional photographers, creative writers and targeted print publications to best showcase each property, with promotions accented, perhaps, by aerial photos, streaming videos, social media and more.

Personal/Community Interests

Tom is a city-dweller – he and his wife, Gidge, live in Downtown Greenville, while overseeing the construction of a new home for themselves at Augusta Walk. So he is at home, literally as well as figuratively, in both the bustle of Downtown Greenville and the beauty of the Carolina mountains, and these places have become his professional niche.

Away from the office, Tom is an active member of First Presbyterian Church where he serves as an Elder, participates in Search Men’s Ministries, and has been actively involved in youth development and mentoring. He and Gidge were highly active in their kids’ schools and extracurricular activities, and are now enjoying the fruits of an empty nest.

“Dana Narramore was amazing to work with! She offered right away to take us on home tours on the weekend so that we could see 10-15 homes a day if we needed. We were very picky first time home buyers and we also weren’t too sure what we wanted. She was always available, professional, and a great negotiator.”

Our Realtor was Clint Miller , my wife and I were very bless that we met him. Clint’s customer service is superb, I can’t even begin to tell you how he helped us feel as we looked for a home in South Carolina. Clint’s expertise in what he does made us feel extremely comfortable”

azam96

Valerie took on selling my house in Greenville as a turnkey project. Valerie and her husband Chuck, evaluated what needed to be done to the property to bring it up to spec. They then arranged bids from contractors for every task involved and fully supervised the repairs and upgrades. I live in Michigan and did not have to visit even once for any aspect of the work. I actually did not meet Valerie and Chuck till I arrived for the closing !! The house sold on the day of the listing for around 5% above the listing price. It set the record for the highest square foot selling price in sub-division !! I will unequivocally recommend Valerie to any prospective home-owner or seller and will happily give personal references for her.”

lsmorse7

“Valerie Miller was the dream real estate agent. Available, knowledgeable and prompt in getting things organized. She has a team of other people who make the whole process of buying a home much less stressful. The team she has assembled provide helpful contacts for home inspection, and land evaluation. Once the closing approaches, other contacts were provided for utility services, water, electricity. Helpful moving suggestions were provided. Wonderful contacts for mortgages and legal contacts for the final closing were seamlessly convened. All in all this agent is superb and works with other superb people. Every detail was thought through.”

Jon Vander Hoek

“Kirby Stone greatly surpassed all expectations of our out of state home buying process! She took the time to get to know us personally and gather information about the homes we were looking for. She was able to show us homes virtually, communicate often, and provide a lot of knowledge on homes and neighborhoods. Before, and even after the transaction, she made sure no details were missed, and connected us with many professionals. Kirby was professional in all respects, but also made us feel as if we were family. We couldn’t be happier with the services she provided, and we will recommend her to all of our clients.”
